The elegant curves, the arabesques, the rounded forms, without tracing but suggested through the game of the warm and cold tints, are imprinted with the impulse of a strong inner strength, taken from distant Asian countries. The artist travelled many times in this part of the world, encountering the richness of the philosophies, which inspire her works and nourish her spiritual quest.
Painter, carver, etcher, talented drawer, Josette Morier works with colour pencils, on slightly grained drawing papers. With an experienced technique and knowledge, developed over the years, and an extreme sensitiveness, she exploits the texture of the surface, using sometimes fifteen different colours for a square centimetre. The intensity of her expression, inscribed in time, has a result out of time : the artist says that her works are “paths for other worlds”.
The one she offers to our eyes, subtle and captivating, is a world difficult to define with singular words. It is mainly readable through sensitiveness and asks the eye to penetrate into the heart of it, to be able to seize the spirituality and the sparkling beauty they express. An exceptional moment to spend in the company of Josette Morier’s works !
